Ready to Sloooow Down

Summer has been busy. We've been having tons of fun with our families and friends, but it may be a little too busy for me. I like "boring" and sitting at home. Don't get me wrong, I love summer and we have certainly made up for last year, but I am ready to slow down.

Trying to keep up with everything makes me tired. I am ready for the cool fall weather and the leaves on the trees changing. Don't hurt me, but I'm even ready for a little rain. I'm ready to not feel like I have 10,000 things to do and that if the sun comes out that I need to be outside doing something so that I don't waste it.

Sometimes I just feel like the days are flying by so quickly that I am missing the little things. As we whisk from one activity to the other, I feel like the small things get lost. Like playing at home and snuggling on the couch. I am a homebody, I always have been and I probably always will be, and I'm ready to stay home a little more. There are days when I just need the calm and the quiet to stay in my pajamas and enjoy my boys without having to worry about dressing Cohen, getting the stroller in the car, remembering to pack Mr. Stinky in case we aren't home by naptime, etc.

We have definitely embraced this summer and I think it was needed in a way. We have a few weeks of summer left so I'm sure we'll squeeze in a few more fun things. But when the fall comes, I'm going to be happy. I'm ready to slow down.
