Thanksgiving 2013

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we hope you all did too! It was a nice, relaxed morning with both boys sleeping in until 8 am and chocolate chip scones for breakfast. I have another sinus infection (boo) so I headed in to pick up my antibiotics and while at Rite Aid I noticed people scurrying around with their carts and ads. I picked up an ad to see what the fuss was about and ending up doing some shopping and getting some really good deals!  (WAY picture overload ahead!)

Ezra took a nice long morning nap in preparation for an afternoon with his relatives. When Ez woke up, we packed up the car and headed over to my parents.

My contributions to the Thanksgiving meal were chocolate chip cookie dough fudge and ravioli appetizers, they both turned out well!

The boys settled right into the living room for football. The ladies gathered around the dining room table and worked on a few diapers (of course). I put Cohen down for a nap right away before his cousins got there and things got too exciting to sleep.

The boys took a break from watching football to go outside and throw the football around to burn off some appetizers and make room for dinner. The kids loved it. Cohen was laughing and running around thinking he was part of all the big kid action. It was pretty cute. Have I mentioned our family is slightly boy heavy?

Then it was dinner time. The best part. The food was excellent, we were all filled to the brim, and I regretted not bringing sweatpants for after dinner. When Ezra woke up he decided he was hungry and ate blended up sweet potatoes! He decided those were so good that he wanted mashed bananas for dessert. He's a Kimmel for sure!

After dinner the kids wanted to go out and watch the sun set. My mom got a balloon for Carter so we took it outside for the kids to let go. Cohen loved to watch the balloon and kept wanting to "get it".

And now....CHRISTMAS!

Pumpkin Patch Rounds 1 & 2

We went to the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago when our friends were up (I think I forgot to put up pictures...) Cohen really liked it and we got invited to go with my sister and her family this weekend so we went for it! Cohen is happy about anything outside. This was actually his third trip to a pumpkin patch.

This time we decided to go pick apples and took a little ride on another tractor pulled wagon ride. It was his favorite part. We may even try to squeeze one more trip in sometime this week! The boy loves it, what can I say. Lots of room to run, pumpkins to look at, animals to see...right up his alley. These are pictures from our two trips to the same pumpkin patch. Our middle visit was to a different little farm that was a "Cohen and Mom" date so I didn't even take my camera. But we had a lot of fun. The last one we were at we rode a wagon pulled by horses out to the pumpkin patch and he loved "riding the bus". They also had a little petting zoo, and much to my amazement, he rode a pony!

Cinco de Mayo

We have officially started birthday season around here. Actually we started at the end of March with my nephew's birthday and now we are in full swing.

{Working hard on Gramma's birthday card}

Sunday was my mom's birthday so we celebrated with a taco lunch at my sister Karen's. The weather around here has been so nice (and so not normal). Thankfully, they have a nice shady yard in the afternoon because this girl doesn't tolerate the heat well normally and equally not as well while pregnant.

Cohen ate and ate and ate some more, threatened to throw up once, and then continued eating.

Karen had the slip n slide and little kiddie pool all set up for the kids and they had fun playing in the water. Cohen went in the little pool, fell over and was done although he did tromp through the puddles on the slip n slide later on.

{After lunch nap time for the big boys}

Happy Birthday Gramma, we love you!

Easter Weekend

We had a fun Easter weekend and hope you all did too. The weather here was awesome which is highly unusual. Usually, the kids are running around out in the rain doing their egg hunt while we watch from inside. This year, it was shorts weather (anything over 60*).

On Saturday, we went over to my brother and sister-in-laws for my nephew Eli's 8th birthday and an egg hunt. Cohen didn't really "get" finding Easter eggs, but he did find some dum-dums which he was thrilled with. He wasn't entirely sure what to do with them and ended up putting one in his ear. He was a sticky mess, but he loved it.

I realized this weekend that Cohen isn't a baby anymore, he is a toddler. I was happy and sad at the same time. Happy that he has come so very far and sad that I can't keep him little forever.

{This goes in my ear, right mom? Oh I can EAT it?}

Sunday we took Cohen to church. Easter last year was the first time we ever took Cohen to church. April also marks the end of RSV season, hooray!!!! I can't wait to get out and about more with Cohen while I still can.

Cohen got a little Easter basket with bubbles, chalk and a little bunny cup. After church, we went over to my parents house for Easter brunch. I made a egg and potato casserole but it was way salty, like, inedible. Maybe next year will be better.

20 Months

Love these cousins. And love that I get pictures of my cute boy from my sister.

Cohen has had a rough week or so. He has been protesting napping and eating. Every morning that he gets up the first thing he does is sign "milk" and then goes and gets his coat and shoes and follows me around with them, wanting to go outside. We have been going outside 2-3 times a day lately, rain or shine! We can't wait for summer, trying to keep this boy busy is wearing me out!
